Custom fitting was born in the 1960's
when Karsten Solheim helped PGA Tour professionals improve their games by adjusting their equipment to fit their swings. The results were amazing. On several occasions, players went on to win soon after their visit with Karsten. It was then that Karsten started work on his famous PING Color Code System.

in a recent consumer survey by a 3-to-1 margin, PING has trained thousands of fitters in order to bring the benefits of custom fitting to all golfers.
Factory-trained PING club fitters
spend 3 days at our plant in Phoenix, learning about PING products, how they are manufactured, and how to fit golf clubs "Karsten's way". The result is that every authorized PING Fitting Cart Account is staffed with knowledgeable, factory-trained personnel who are able to custom-fit a golfer for a complete set of PING golf clubs.
Every year, PING selects a fitter
whose commitment to clubfitting and service deserves special recognition. Selected from 65 regional finalists, the PING National Fitter of the Year for 2006 was Massengale Golf Academy in Spring, Texas.

Completing the Club Fitting Questionnaire helps the fitter understand your preferences and goals.
2. Static Measurements
Your height and other measurements are used to calculate a starting point.
3. Dynamic Swing Test
A fitter evaluates how your stance and swing affect the position of the clubhead at impact.
4. Ball Flight Observation
Your ball flight tendencies and preferences are important factors in determining the final specifications.
5. Monitor Performance
Since your swing may change over time, periodic evaluations can help keep you playing to your full potential.
